The phrasal verb "blow up" has two meanings.

1) blow up - to explode

Example sentences:

The airplane will blow up when it crashes.

The whole house will blow up after they ignite the dynamite.

2) blow up - to get angry

Example sentences:

My mom always blows up when she sees my little brother steal cookies before dinner.

Her boss blows up when she doesn't get to work on time.
