Common American Slang

Some American slang:

1) "tight" - this is another way to say "cool"
example: That shirt is really tight; I want one too!

2) "on the rocks" - how to ask for ice with an alcoholic beverage
example: Can I have a whiskey on the rocks?

3) "edgy" - nervous
example: I feel really edgy when I go to the dentist.

4) "puke" - to vomit
example: I almost puked when I saw the man's arm bleeding.

5) "thingy" - a word used when we can't think of the name of an object.
example: Bring me that thingy over there, I need it to finish my homework.
