Indiana Jones 4 interview with Harrison Ford

Everyone has a...has a positive attitude when they do something like this and you feel that you're doing the best job you can with it. Or you hope you are. Umm, but you never antici..., I never anticipate success. Uhhh,... in that order of magnitude..ummm... that ...that the...the first three films achieved. I was surprised by it. I was delighted by it. And on...but on an...on another level. I..I..I knew whe.. when we were making the film uhhh what..what virtues it had. Umm...I knew that it..it was uhh really good story telling, really good film making...ummm it was funny. It had a great deal of adventure and surprise to it all. Umm...so on one...on one level I wasn't surprised at its success. On another level I certainly was surprised by the level of success that ...that we reached.

There was an ongoing dialogue. There was a..a.. a period of maybe umm...5 or 6 years where nobody anticipated doing another. If I remember correctly. And then we began to, each of us in our way, uhh...to think about the potential, the possibility, of doing another. Umm..having been out in the.. in the world making all kinds of other movies. Umm, for myself, uhh...I was happy to do another Indiana Jones uhh film just because they're so much damn fun. So much fun to do.

Steven is very good at story. Very umm particular about umm.. about the way he constructs a story. But he adds also the element umm umm of film making. He is just a master mechanic with film. And ...and really umm uhh brings umm passion and energy to every ...every frame of film. He is the most attentive, particular umm...and I mean that in the..in the nicest possible way, director I have ever worked fo...for. He really is very clear about what it ..what it is that he wants to get out of every moment. And relent...relentless about pursuing it. And uhh I feel uhh extremely comfortable in his uhh..in his hands.

Indiana Jones is back umm at Marshall College. Teaching archeology. Umm he still pursues uhh umm archeological adventures in the..in the time that he is not engaged in the classroom. He is uhh...he..he has this dual nature that uhh that he has always had uhhh part academic, part umm adventure. And uhh all of that remains.

Marian remains as uhh as uhh feisty, uhh independent, and strong as she ever was. Umm so there is a ...you know the relationship is not uhh uhh I dont know, without some degree of contest between them. Uhh but it..I..I hope it will be fun for an audience.
