Podcast 13 News: Man gets bit by a snake, Pamela Anderson's marriage is annulled, Gopher bombs cause a huge fire
Hello welcome to Blabbinit. This is Missy. Today we will be doing a brief podcast on current news stories. I have made the news stories simple for you to be able to practice your English and so that you can understand easier.
On Monday, Andy Bacas got home from his trip to South Carolina. He opened his luggage to get something out. When he put his hand in his luggage, he felt a pain in his hand. He looked inside the luggage to see what it was. A rattlesnake was looking at him and had bit him. He quickly closed the luggage with the snake inside. He is now in the hospital in stable condition. Poor guy! Talk about bad luck in a package!
Pamela Anderson, the star from “Baywatch” and her husband Rick Salomon announced that they annulled, or cancelled their marriage today. This was a very short marriage. They were married in Las Vegas on October 6 and separated on December 13. That is only 2 months and a week! This could be recorded as the shortest marriage in the history of the United States.
In Canada, two men were trying to kill some huge rodents, called gophers. They were setting up small bombs in the gophers holes. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. A huge fire started and spread through the rural land causing $197,000 worth of damage. That is a lot of money for paying to kill some big rodents.
