Podcast 8 The Silent Treatment – Joke

Hello everyone and welcome to Blabbinit.com. This is Missy from southern California. I hope that you are all doing well. To keep you all in good spirits today, I would like to tell you a joke and explain it a little afterwards in order for you to understand it.

Here goes….

A husband and his wife got in an argument one day. They were both so angry that they decided not talk to each other.

Both of them were very stubborn and wouldn’t give up.

The husband had a very important business meeting to go to the next morning. Each morning his wife would wake him up so he could get ready and leave for work.

The husband did not want to break the silence to let the wife win so he wrote his wife a note saying, “Wake me up at 6:00”

He went to bed and the next morning he woke up and looked at the clock and it said 9:30. He was ready to jump out of bed to yell at his wife, but on the bed he saw a note which his wife had written. It said, “Wake up, it’s 6 a.m.”

In this joke, the husband and wife will not speak to each other because they are both angry and wouldn’t give up. When we say wouldn’t give up we mean that they refuse to let the other person win. The husband and wife have an agreement of silence, and they both do not want to “lose” by talking first. The husband has to wake up in the morning but is afraid that if he talks, he will let his wife win the game of silence so he writes her a note to tell her to wake him up. In return, the wife writes the husband a note saying, “Wake up, it’s 6 a.m.”
Obviously the husband didn’t wake up since a note in unable to wake anyone up.
